The Donut Farm was created by San Francisco Bay Area costume designer Kathleen Qiu. It was originally inspired by her cat Marley, the most obnoxious and loudest cat you’ll ever meet. She combined that with her constant desire for donuts, and thus The Donut Farm was born. All donuts are designed and handmade in San Francisco.
Kathleen is a costume designer with years of experience in theater and film. Apart from constant sewing and altering clothes, she loves creating new art away from her sewing machine and spends a good amount of time trying to figure out how to make new animals fit into the donut mold. She would likely be more efficient at this if Marley wasn’t a constant interruption into her daily routines.
